The 6300 is a good CPU, its cheap and cheerful, however, intel has more upragrdeability, The I3, while decent, is only a dual core so it will not multi task well, you might be smart to invest into a nice intel CPU and Mobo, however if you want to spend as little as possible but not bottleneck go with AMD.
Not really any worthwhile upgrades for an APU. Sell the CPU, motherboard and RAM use the money to offset the cost of switching to an i3. Big improvement and more upgrade options.

Mother board wont affect performance, you can go with a 40 dollar mother board, you lose some features but it wont affect game performance.

for that chipset, this is the cheapest it goes. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138372&cm_re=am3%2b%5c-_-13-138-372-_-Product

And for that price it looks pretty decent.

ok yea im going with this one instead. its not a micro XD. and ill get a fx-6300.

For gaming, it's decidedly better than an FX 8350, let alone an FX 6300. Plus, you can upgrade to an i5 or i7 later if needed. Your FX build will have even less performance and can't be upgraded to anything that even compares with the i3. When you figure the cost of the CPU, motherboard, and cooler, you at almost the same cost as the i3, motherboard and RAM. It's your money to do with what you want, but you're paying more for less.

If the I3 is this close to the 6300, then it will never out perform an 8350 bud, maybe you might want to do some research, also an I3 is only a dual core. yea it has hyper threading, but alot of games dont support hyper threading yet.

You are correct but the problem I'm having is its around $200 for the other one its around $150. With that i could get a new 120gb ssd

I did more research and the I3 6100 performs nearly identical to the 8350, but again, its only a dual core so your multitasking performance will be limited compared to the 6 cores and 8 cores on the AMD's. Don't get me wrong, im and intel fan boy, but when someone asks for a cheap good CPU, i allways go AMD for these reasons.

Even if it's outdated and has no upgrade path? I'm sorry, but until Zen comes out, AMD doesn't have anything that can't be done faster or cheaper with an Intel CPU. The FX 6300 you're recommending basically isn't an upgrade at all, and the OP has said this is for gaming, which relies more heavily on strong single core performance. If he wanted to stick with AMD for whatever reason, an X4 860K would be a more logical upgrade, but even it really isn't going to make a significant difference. We'll just have to disagree on this.

May i remind you his question, he inst asking for the best future upgrade able CPU, he wants cheap, that wont bottleneck, please stop straying from the original question.
