GTX 1060 3GB vs RX 480 4GB

I'm torn between GTX 1060 3GB and RX 480 4GB so which is better and future proof ?
rx 480 advantages
have 256 bit
-1GB more
-TFlops better than gtx 1060
-should be better in dx12 titles

the gtx 1060 advantages
-should be 10% faster than rx 480
-it is better in 3d mark spy

The RX 480 without a doubt. While it's the same chip as it's 8GB counterpart, the 1060 3gb is a gimped version of the 6gb one.

Not the worst idea ever, but i would stay away. The non-reference ones are better.

If you like high anti aliasing or resolutions higher than 1920x1080 then get the Rx 480. I noticed all those benchmarks had low anti aliasing so that the lower VRAM didn't come into play.

However at 1080P and low anti aliasing I think it comes down to personal preference. 1060 still does well in that scenario, but I have the feeling that if VULKAN API takes off we will see the Rx 480 shoot ahead. However Nvidia is still king of DX11 in most 2016 titles.
