Games crashes when memory is set to xmp profile 1 in bios

So everytime I launch a game it crashes when I have xmp mode enable. I do believe I can't use this mode because the ram is rated at 1333mhz.
I ballstix 32gb ram ddr3 1333mhz. I'm assuming I can't use xmp mode unless I have higher rated ram

Correct XMP only applies to DRAM 1600 and up, best is set to manual and ensure the correct timings are there, by default at 1333 most mobos will use higher timings (JEDEC SPEC) than most DRAM comes with
