I am a singer but would also like to do some voice overs and streming and what not. I was wondering how this microphone did when it comes to singing because in some video I heard a guy say that he wouldn't recommend it for singing. Why the heck not? Anybody? Can I use it for some amateur home recordings?

Perfectly good for home recording, the guy you talked to was probably one of those analog amp vinyl record snobs. You should also look at the AT2020USB+ (about same price) and the Blue Yeti, as well as their higher end counterparts (AT2020USBi and Blue Yeti Pro), particularly the Audio Technica one that gets great reviews since it's based on a very good traditional XLR plug mic
