Hey all, how good is this pc?

Solution

I say to change because of my experiences with MSI products. I have never encountered one that I didn't have to RMA or replace because it died shortly after the warranty ended. I was convinced by a friend to use one of their motherboards in a recent build and it was cheaper than the one I was looking at using. The client liked the savings, but they didn't like it when the SATA controller died 1 month later and it took almost 4 weeks to get it replaced...with a...

Why the mini case and graphics card on the home build? I'd go full size if you can. Better heat transfer and that prolongs life. Also easier to set up and modify later (for more longevity).

Otherwise it looks fine. I'm still running far lower than that and haven't even thought of upgrading, but I do most of my gaming on my PS4.

Looks good, but I suggest changing the RAM for modules with a heat spreader, like the G.Skill Ripjaws, change the motherboard to a model from ASUS or AsRock, then change the GPU to one from ASUS or EVGA.

The heat spreader will help cool the RAM modules. And the reason I recommend changing brand of the mobo and GPU is because my experience has been that those companies tend to have the best quality and customer service.

Why should I change mobo? (Sorry that's the part I know least about) Also, what other mobo's do you suggest I really like all the features this motherboard has. I was suggested this mobo by another user. https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/Z170M-MORTAR.html#hero-overview

Mostly I have a very limited height to use on my desk.

I have only ever had 1 ASUS product fail on me and ASUS had it repaired and back to me in 5 business days.

This is just one example...I have had a lot of bad experiences between trying their products and fixing other peoples builds. I'm sure there are others that have had a different experience, but this has been mine.

As for what board, I was looking at this one:
PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bhtX7P
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bhtX7P/by_merchant/

Motherboard: Asus Z170M-PLUS Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($119.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $119.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Note: SuperBiiz looks cheaper, but watch out for shipping charges, it might be cheaper to go with a vendor with free shipping.

Does it have some of the same features at the msi one?

At a glance, the only real difference I saw between the two was the MSI can handle RAM up to 3600mhz and the ASUS up to 3466mhz. Considering you're not even looking at RAM speeds anywhere near that and the difference is probably nil, it is irrelevant.

Was there some feature you specifically wanted?
