can i use ATX Processor and power supply on mATX motherboard?

Solution

Return all the parts you ordered for now. No sense in keeping any of them. Again, what's your budget? What is it for?

For ~$550, you can get:

So your telling me i dont have to cancel my order with Amazon that all these components will fit into my Computer Case and Motherboard?

Will these PC Parts fit into my Case?

Case: Zalman ATX Mid Tower PC Case Z1 Neo

Power Supply: Rosewill Stallion Series 500W

Motherboard: Asus Micro ATX DDR3 1600 AMD AM3+ Motherboard M5A78L-M/USB3

Fan: Wraith Cooler 4.1 4 AD789KXDJCHBX

Processor: AMD A10 7890K A-Series APU

Graphics Card: Radeon R7 Graphics

1) Don't use that power supply, it's garbage. Get the Seasonic S/M 12II 520W, it's only $50 and will last you forever.
2) You're missing the memory, hdd/ssd, and operating system
3) No need to buy a separate cooler for that chip
4) They should fit in the case just fine, though it's a pretty lackluster build to begin with.

What's your budget and need?

i already bought this tbh :( i was trying to avoid buying anything else and needed to know if this could be put together the Processor/Fan/Graphics card came together, i bought what looked to be reasonable priced parts for an increase in performance but idk anymore.. im lost

Cancel the order or return, that's the easiest way. You really need to do your research before even thinking about buying parts!

Thank you! you have been very helpful.. I wish i ran into you before purchasing all this shit.

Always look on this forum before buying a PC, you'll get some great ideas from a ton of members, and usually (especially those 1000 answer+ guys suggestions) the builds work perfectly at a lower price than you thought was possible.

Yea im gonna have to hold off on the HardDrive and OPS, going a lil over budget to get the rest. But that should be fine yeah?

ops? What the hell is ops?

If you mean operating system (OS), that is a stupid idea. The OS is more important. If it's a gaming system and you plan on playing things other than valve games, you'll need Windows, which is NOT free.

But i already have a Hard drive with w10 on it :(

That means jack shit unless you have a LICENSE for it. If your computer was prebuilt, the chance of that is zero. If you had a Win 10 retail license, you're good to go, just reactivate. If you had a retail license of 7 or 8.1 which you updated to 10, you'll need to link the OS to your microsoft account NOW, and then use that license on the new computer (requires anniversary update)

So since i have a Product ID for windows, it was a factory cpu ( used to be 8.1 now im w10 ) im good to go? i just have to use that ID to transfer the License to my other cpu? But i have to do the Prior to my new cpu.

You have OEM 8.1, definitely NOT "good to go". You will need a new license
