So I just finished installing re-installing windows 10 onto my new, samsung 750 evo SSD.

I downloaded steam and started to redownload some games again, but soon I realized that I wasn't going to be able to access the games that I wanted to keep on my HDD.

There are quite a few games/programs that I don't use very often that I would love to be able to just keep on my HDD and use off of that, but I don't know how to find all of their files and when I do, the files are not able to launch .exe's ever!

Is it possible to even have a setup like this? I always thought that it was, but it's looking harder and harder every second.

ANY HELP/INFO WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED THANKS!!!

Yes, it's possible to run your games off the HDD instead of the SSD. However, if you installed the games previously in a different Windows install then you're going to need to install them again. It's fine that you specify the HDD as where to install the games, but you can't just take a program folder from another OS and expect it's just going to run. It needs the complete install process where it installs dependency software and files, as well as registry entries into Windows itself.

So how am I supposed to go about re-installing games onto my HDD? I can't install games into that steam library file because it already has the games in it and the new steam client on my SSD is not recognizing it...

do I have to install ALL my games onto the SSD, delete them off of the old HDD library file and then create that as a new library file again? If I do it like that won't I lose my game data?
