Hi there, just looking for a bit of input into a possible new build that I'm thinking about putting together later this year. I'll probably wait until Vega is released before spending a lump on this in case competition reduces GPU price, but otherwise, a fairly high-end prospective build.

Case - Cooler Master CM690 III

CPU - Intel Core i7 6700K

CPU Cooling - Corsair H80i v2

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC ACX 3.0

MOBO - Asus Z170-AR

RAM - Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB DDR4 2400MHz (HX424C15FB2K2/16)

SSD - Samsung 850 Pro 128GB

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB (ST2000DM001)

PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G1

DVD Writer - ASUS DRW-24D5MT

Personally, I have strongly considered ditching the HDD altogether and just put in a 500 GB SSD. But I have an external back NAS for media. I just don't store that much on my local system. The DVD writer amuses me as I haven't use a DVD in years. Otherwise, just a normal solid build. If you have a few more bucks, I always recommended buying the highest quality PSU you can find. I am not suggest increasing wattage, but 80+ Gold or higher. Power is the #2 reason systems degrade, right after failing the keep the dust cleaned regularly to get good cooling.

Also, M2 or PCI SSDs are a nice touch, so consider those if you haven't yet. They get much higher transfer rates, but it is arguable whether you would notice with regular use. The m2's are fairly cost comparable.
