Whats up guys, I'm back and looking on some input before i go ahead and do this upgrade.

This is my current setup:

PSU: 300Watt
CPU: AMD A8 6500 Quad core processor @3.50Ghz
RAM: 14GB of DDR3.. of the 4 slots available three are being used, one 8GB, one 4GB and one 2GB.
GPU: Radeon 8570D HD + 8470D Dual Graphics (I think the 8470 is removable and the other in the APU.)
Motherboard: ?? I do not know how to check this

OS: Windows 8.1

This is what im planning on doing:

PSU: 500Watt - Maybe EVGA 500
CPU: Intel Pentium G3420 3.2GHz
RAM: Take the ram from my current system.
GPU: - I dont know. probably a card in the R9 290 series or there abouts.
Motherboard: Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150

What i want from you guys is there anything i can do better for around £200-£250 what with using or selling what i have. not needing to pay for ram etc.

Also if there are any better options for cpu motherboard etc i may have missed and how the hell do you find out what your installed motherboard is :p Thanks guys!

EDIT - Should probably mention its for building a gaming/video editing computer. Mainly gaming

I would say get different RAM, as using different sticks that aren't the same clock speed etc. is a bad idea in terms of performance, i would recommend This RAM or just getting another of the EXACT model of 8GB RAM you already have and removing the others. Brand isn't as important but the clock speeds are.

I was just going to use the 8GB HyperX Ram for the new system and probably sell my current one with 6gb. question though. Would removing the 6 GB of ram and leaving just the 8 to run at a higher clock speed be worth it? would i see any performance boost on my current system by removing ram?

I wouldn't think you would see a boost as you're still going to have Less RAM, but it shouldn't lower performance much as HyperX is usually pretty good quality.
