Hi,

I want to buy a new gaming desktop pc (windows) but it's hard to decide what I excactly need to play at average settings.

My budget is around 850 euro. The games I want to play are mostly action-adventure games like assasin's creed (unity), dishonored, watch dogs... It would be nice if I could play for a few years before needing to upgrade the GPU.

I think the biggest question is what type of GPU I will need to play these or upcoming games for a few more years.

So I think this: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/jzTsXH

Is already a really good start. From now I recommend we just see which parts are available in your area, what you could upgrade or if exceeds budget downgrade. Although the GTX 1060 is not the latest high end, you could play very good games at it. Or even better is that you save a bit more and buy the sweetest spot with 1100€ only 250€ extra is really worth.

High end level

Okay so if you want to play open games like that you will need a high end machine as I imagine you will want to play nearly ultra with 1080p because games like that look stunning with high graphics. I use pounds and euros to pounds is about £730 so that's more then enough to build your own PC but if you don't want to build you can buy a pre-built PC from a local store not much help we can do.

But the components that are worth buying are the key components first. A case £50 case will do (58euro), no need for an over expensive case just one with around 5 expansion slots and a couple of bays for your storage devices and that has fans with it.

Next is a motherboard you need one that will be compatible with your CPU later on I recommend one that has a LGA 1151 and a H110 this is most common and is really good. A specific one is about £80 (93euro).

Now a CPU this can be the most expensive but I would say to get an Intel Core I7-4790k this is a really good CPU for gaming for about £260 (302euro).

Next will be some storage devices you will need a HDD and a SSD for enough storage for games and files. This is up to you but I would say about 2 or 3TB all together is fine, all together about £100 (120euro).

Now a PSU anything but a corsair C series is good as the are cheap and not really reliable so the choice is yours but make sure it has a 25pin mobo connector, at least 4 SATA cables some molex and a 8pin PCI-e. those are the main ones, about £60 (70euro).

So now you need an OS windows 10 will do about £80 (93euro).

You need RAM but depending on mobo you need DDR3 or DDR4 so check with mobo but 8gb RAM will do fine, about £50 (60euro).

Now are left with a GPU (well I hope I haven't missed anything) so now you have about £50 (60euro) which isn't enough for a GPU if you can just save up an extra £200 (230euro) you can get a GTX 970 and that should complete your build but other than that, it is a good build to go for.

Tyler your build make absolutely no sense. Buying a 2 generation old 300€ i7 is absolutely pure crap. And on top of that recommending incompatible materials is ridiculous. An i7 4790k with a 1151 socket z170 motherboard.. good luck with that :fou: and recommending a 60€ Graphic card for a gaming build, pure joke.

Pepslight, thank you very much. Those are some really helpfull suggestions. I will definitely now what to search for from now on (I'll keep the list). I just need some general guidelines. For now, I'm going to buy a pre-build one, that's easier at the moment. Do you have any suggestions for good sites where you can buy pre-builds?

And maybe one more question. Is there a big difference between gaming experience between i5 and i7 CPU?

It depends, if you pick up a i5 6600k and a i7 6700k and you compare side by side on the same build, the difference on paper would be minimal 10fps difference (exaggerating, could be more of less). Now it gets interesting, the i5 6600k is so good because you can overclook so easy so high so cool. (I got an i5 6600k I'm running at 4.6Ghz instead of the 3.5 Stock meaning 1100mhz boost, the temps always cool). If you overclock the i5 6600k to 4.5Ghz which is very very Easy, you will be at the same level or even better than the i7 6700k stock. It comes more if you do video editing and others stuff. But on pure gaming you wouldn't notice a difference, Including desktop usage.
There would be theoretically 0 difference. It's wiser to invest on a i5 6600k and with the saved money you could buy a better ssd, case or ultimately a better Graphic card.

I don't know now about websites that sell pre builds pc in Belgium, but one thing I know Is that assembling a machine by yourself is cheaper, and it's really easy and fun, like legos everything pass together.

Here is an excellent guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-your-own-pc,2601-10.html

Ok, sounds like a logical choice. Any suggestions which sites have good pre-builds? I'm aware that building it will be cheaper, but I don't have lots of time at the moment.
