for the 100th time i have connected my gtx 1060 to my receiver yamaha rx v 379. i dont get sound in some games was the original story. now nvidia told me the receiver is not recognized by my pc only the tv by seeing it only recognized the tv at set up multiple displays on nvidia control panel. nvidia tells me its the receiver, yamaha tells me its nvidia, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? OMG so the sound when it is not working i change to stereo and it works it just not works on 5.1. what else.. i have sound. I dont know if it is 5.1 but i have it. It just dont work on some games and as nvidia told me its not surround if i dont have the receiver recognized. Hope i included all. I need all the help i can get. This story goes months back.

but if they continue to just point fingers at each other, you'll get nowhere. You're out of ideas, and they each(by themselves) have run out of ideas. Seems like the only real chance for resolution is by working together instead of against each other.

How have you connected? Via hdmi? And you have set your gpu as the primary sound device? Is the receiver set to receive on that input? Is there an option to stream decoded as lpm or as dts/dolby?
