Hello guys, i did an overclock and i am a bit worried about the lifespan of my cpu. i would like to see your opinions about my overclock, and if in your opinion should i keep it this way.

I5 6600K--->OC 4.3GHZ ----> Core Voltage in the BIOS = 1.240 Core Voltage in CPUZ= 1.220.
I tried lowering the voltage but it crashes when i start testing it with Prime95. (Tested a lower voltage with Intels extreme utility and it passed...). The temps are 36C~40C idle, and 50 ~55C While gaming (Planetside 2 at Ultra settings 1080p).

Is this a win guys?. or will my cpu die with this overclock :/.

Like I said, it's all up to your comfort level. 1.4v is the generally accepted upper limit of voltage for the average user. Many choose to not go above 1.35v in order to preserve lifespan (think 10 years). I personally would be comfortable with 1.28v or even higher.

Don't use the latest version of prime, download v26.6.
Nah, those are all very mild. Keep it under 1.4v (1.35v even better) and you're fine. I'd honestly try and take it to at least 4.5Ghz, but that's up to your comfort level. Which Prime95 version are you using? I'd stick to 26.6 using small FFT as the newer versions unnecessarily stress the CPU.

I tried that. but i had to rise the Voltage to 1.280... it passed all intels tests and Cinebench... but i felt like i was literally killing my cpu this way :s.... (I am using the last version of Prime95 btw,,).

Allright timeconsumer, thank you for your advice, i will download that version of prime and test my cpu with the original 1.215V i used ( Played a couple of games with this voltage and it didnt crash, i ve even done a test with the intel oc software, cinebench, but prime convinced me to upper the Voltage...), i will be honest with you, i first wanted to get 4.5GHZ . Played a couple of games then went down to 4.3GHZ... the difference was minimal (5fps...) so i kept these settings.. :). Thank you again bud ;)
