Hi

I have recently made a new build for my daughter. The system specs I have put in are as follows:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 Socket 775 LGA 2.93GHz
Mobo: Dell Inc. 0N826N A01 Intel P35/G33/G31
Memory Slot 1: Samsung DDR2 PC2-6400 (400MHz) CF7 1GB 1.8v
Memory Slot 2: Samsung DDR2 PC2-6400 (400MHz) CF7 1GB 1.8v
Memory Slot 3: Samsung DDR2 PC2-5300 (333MHz) CE6 1GB 1.8v
Memory Slot 4: Samsung DDR2 PC2-5300 (333MHz) CE6 (1GB) 1.8v
GPU: NVidia GeForce GT610 1GB DDR3

I want to put in a set of 4 Komputerbay 8GB (4x2GB) DDR2 DIMM (240 Pin) 800MHz PC2 6400/PC2 6300 1.8v.

When I do so the PC will not start and simply goes into a repair/reboot process. I have tried taking out the Mobo battery and putting it back in to reset the BIOS and then re-inserting the chips. But the same problem occurs. Before purchasing the RAM I did check on the motherboard website to verify that the board could accept the 800MHz Ram and it said it would.

I am stuck and really need some advice on what to do. As far as I am aware the RAM should work fine but something is not working.

I am running Windows 8.1 PRO as the OS.

Thanks

Thanks for the response,

The RAM I am trying to put in is 2GB chips (4 of them) for a total of 8GB. The board states that it can have a total of 8GB on the Mainboard specs online.

Thanks for getting back to me,

I have already done this, several times, in the hopes that it would be a nice easy fix. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be solving the problem.

Hi,

I believe the model number of the Motherboard is Dell Inc. 0N826N A01.

This is what I searched for online and it said the board could accept 8GB.

Thanks for the assistance

Thanks for the response,

All of the RAM chips were bought together in a pack. I have tried with 1, 2, 3 and all 4 in and the problem is the same no matter what. Should I still try to change the voltage? I presume I do this via the BIOS?

Thanks

I will try changing the voltage but it is starting to look more and more like I should just bin the whole thing and start again. The chips I bought I presumed were fine for the board as they are exactly what was stated on the Motherboard's specifications. Back to her playing on her XBox I guess :)
