Hello! Recently I've been wanting to get a new pc since the current one got REALLY old. Was wondering wether or
not I should go with custom liquid cooling? I was planning on going CPU only due to the price on the GPU water block, ( Plan to upgrade to CPU + GPU in the future )
that would yield me around 550$. Is it worth to go this route as it is expandable and more "Future-Proof" as that's what im aiming for.
Another question is if i should get custom wires and stuff, if so where and what should I get?
Also, if I need anything else other than what's in the build. ( Case fans etc, i'm a first time builder as a btw )
If you have any suggestions for the specs on the custom liquid cooled please tell!
Do I need to change anything in the build? If yes please leave recommendations! I will be checking them out any time possible! Thanks alot for taking the time!

Here's my current build plan: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2HrfPs ( Black & White )

Solution
If you are going custom loop I would recommend you to spend on TITAN X because it can outperform GTX1080 by very huge margin at 1440p. it will provide you like 20fps+ boost from GTX1080.

So I put together a list of parts for a waterloop, this has two 360mm rads, plus a tube res and pump combo, pastel white coolant in clear pvc tubing, plus a drain valve sorted, and i also suggest getting custom sleeved cables, cable mods is good!

Here is the better listing:

I would recommend buying TITAN X PASCAL directly from NVIDIA site for only $1200 it will be back in stock soon.
I went for Corsair 900D to provide good enough space for custom loop.
I went with MAXIMUS VIII HERO because it has ROG software support and great for OC.
I went with 32GB RAM as I could get it in budget.

I would like to have around 300-400$ for now. I was thinking only cooling the CPU and in the future getting the GPU upgrade! I plan on having it more silent cause I won't be overclocking very hard. I also changed some things related to the build, by that I mean, I changed the titan XP into a 1070 or maybe 1080.

I was thinking about getting the 1080 for 1440p and then upgrading to 1180 or maybe even a 1180TI when it comes out. I don't plan on maxing settings on every game! Though is there really a difference between the motherboards? Or the 16gb ram to 32gb? I was thinking about putting more money into the SSD for 1
TB 850 EVO. About the water cool loop, was thinking only cooling CPU and in the future when I change the GPU to add a water block to that too. Your opinion?

You can do that but then will have to do lot of editing to the loop when you will get your next GPU.

I think doing this with a 1080, you could go straight and cool cpu + gpu here, TITAN is gonna be just a lot of money, and if you're gonna upgrade later, a 1080 will be a more sensible choice, and you can get two for the price of a TITAN, which should outperform it in well scaled games, you know, 60fps at 4k. I also made a couple of edits that I think save some money, like PSU and case. I know case is always a personal thing, but the 750D is the same look, but just cheaper and a bit smaller, its not like you're doing 3 way TITAN XM with a waterloop like a guy I know did.

Then you could get a really nice waterloop, or a second 1080

A few questions, is the maximus VII Hero worth the extra bit of money? I was thinking about changing from 500GB to 1TB of SSD storage, also the monitor is a bit ( 150 $ ) more.. I heard they are equally good based on reviews and specs ( Dell S2716DG ). What do you think about getting a platinum certified power supply? Regarding the water cooling, I was looking for slight overclocks but maximum silence. Also, I'd like the H440 more due to wanting to make adjustments to it ( colour it ) on certain parts, any idea what would I need to make paintings on it? Thanks for taking the time!

Yes ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO is worth paying extra, reason is that it is a ROG series motherboard which is made to OC and push system to limits and being ROG mobo it has ROG software support which you will like playing with.

I would recommend platinum supply for builds like this as it gives more stability even when pushed to limits.

Here is my opinion on choosing the GPU. I don't know if you would agree with me but, I would recommend on going for a GTX1060 for temporary basis until GTX1080Ti is out then check its benchmarks compare it with TITAN X PASCAL and choose the one you want. Going for GTX1080 and then upgrading to GTX1080Ti is waste of money.

When do you think they'll release it (1080Ti)? I plan on building this in December christmas time for the sales.
By the way, any SSD 1 TB that you think is worth getting? Is it okay if by December I contact you again incase of anything new that might be worth it? Also, thanks!

Maybe a better one, up to you really.

Platinum PSU isnt worth the extra money, its just efficiency, Linus did a video on it on YouTube, just google it! 1TB SSD is a good idea because of the speed really.

For painting, steps are pretty easy, prep the surface by cleaning it, any dust will get stuck and ruin the finish. Once the surface is cleaned, use a layer of primer, make sure you get good coverage, depending on what your top coat colour will be will decide on if you get a grey or white primer. Then you should do three-ish coats of the desired colour and finish, e.g. glossy orange or matt blue. Then you want to do a top coat of a lacquer of some sort, this can also have the finish (matt or gloss), and you can get different levels of gloss, different to piano finish, high gloss finishes can look VERY nice. You can achieve these will a buffing wheel on a drill or something. But thats a basic overview. If you try and rush it, it will look s**t.
