Hard Wire Internet Using Ethernet Port?

I have a router/ modem in my office.
I am trying to hardwire internet to my smart T.V. In the living room using the ethernet wall port I had installed on my house, but the port doesn't seem to give me internet.
I was under the impression that connecting to my wall ethernet would be like connecting directly to the router.
The router in the office is plugged into a "blue" ethernet port. Its the only blue port in the house.
Is there a way for me to get that ethernet port in the living room to connect to the router in the office using the wall ethernet i have installed?

It should work, but you have three cables there and if any one is faulty, then it's not going to work. There are:

1) The cable from the office router to the office wall.
2) The cable from the office wall to the living room wall.
3) The cable from the living room wall to the HDTV.

Each of these three cables as well as both connection ports needs to be tested. If you have a portable system (laptop) that has an Ethernet port, then it's just a matter of testing each cable.

1) Take the cable from the router to the office wall port. Remove from the office wall port and connect directly to a laptop. If you get Internet access, the cable is good.
2) Take the cable from the living room wall port to the HDTV. Connect one end to the office router and the other directly to the laptop. If you get internet access, then the cable is good.
3) If both of the above tests are successful, reconnect the cable from the office router to the office wall port. Using the tested living room cable, connect the laptop to the living room Ethernet port and the laptop. If you can get Internet access, then the problem is with you HDTV settings. If you cannot get Internet access from the laptop, then the issue is with the cable or the connection ports from between the office and the living room.

At this point, you would need to disassemble your Ethernet connection ports and test the cabling

I have tested all the cables and they work. I just don't get internet using the Ethernet port in the living room. In theory, the Ethernet port should connect me to internet if everything was working properly right? Are all of my Ethernet ports supposed to connect me to the modem in the office?
