Where do I plug this in on my mother board and what plugs into it once in the motherboard

Its for the buttons on the front panel of your case power, led,restart,etc. It makes it easier, first you plug in all the wires in your case into that extension thing in your picture, then you plug that into the pins on motherboard.

Normally that is connected in the botton of the motherboard, in the right. After that, in that socket are connected the cables which are in the case.
