Asrock X99 Extreme3 compatible with Xeon E5-2670?

Hello

Could anyone tell me if this motherboard is able to use a Intel Xeon E5-2670 SR0KX CPU?

On the website they list E5-2670 v3(M0) and E5-2670 v3(M1) as compatible, but I'm unsure if this include this one?

The 22 nm 2670 V3 came out later than the 32 nm 2670. Therefore, I would expect the older 2670 processor to be recognized with the same BIOS (or a later) that the newer 2670 V3 is recognized by. But I don't have the board or CPU to verify.

You can't run anything older than Haswell-E/EP on an X99. The socket has the same number of pins, but that's where the similarities end. Do not even try.

Am I missing something here? The board's CPU support list includes the E5-2670 V3.
Was the non-v3 a different generation?
