Before I buy I just wanted to make sure that everything in my build is compatible, especially the size of the case. My budget is $500, also this is my first pc build.

I'd like this pc to run the majority of new games. I really need to know if it can run overwatch, star wars battlefront, and battlefield 1. Also I want this build to do basic schoolwork for high school.

Is this build future proof and would you change anything? Thanks.

This would be a little better. Do you REALLY need a disc drive?

Hey @CTurbo

Thanks for responding! I don't need a disc drive I just heard it makes installing the OS a lot easier, if I find out I need a optical drive later down the road it shouldn't be to hard to install right?

Anyways I do like your build better. But regarding the xfx Radeon r9 380x, the graphics card does look great but do I have to buy it soon to get the $40 ($20+$20) rebate? Can you recommend another graphics card just in case I don't buy it so soon? Also how future proof is the build? Last question, sorry man lol are there any good websites to get windows 10 cheap? Thanks!

It says the promo ends 8/25. The regular 380 would be the next best in that price range.

You can install windows from a USB flash drive. You just need a second working PC to do it. Surely you have access to another working PC somewhere?

Yes disc drives are easy to install if you need one later.

Alright I'll try to get that r9 380x. I have access to another pc.

Two last questions- is the build easy to update in the future and can you recommend a good budget monitor or should I start a new thread?

I appreciate all your help.

Yes it will be easy to upgrade in the future. You do not need to make a new thread for a monitor. I recommend a general 1080p monitor in the $90-140 price range. Get whatever size and style you think you'll be comfortable with.
