When you set up printer or file sharing part of the process is establishing who has the rights to do so.
Creating shares can be a somewhat confusing and messy. Doing so must be done carefulliy and deliberately. You can share based on computer and user plus control what is permitted: read, write, delete, etc..
E.g., test pages are generated because you have access to the printer already. However, if you do not have access to the file storing the photographs then that is a different matter.
My suggestion is that you google words such as "printer and file sharing tutorial" and watch or read some of the tutorials etc. that are found. You can, of course, narrow the search to your specific system OS and printer model.
