I'm setting up to build a PC, to upgrade from my laptop. I've done some research and tried to create my own build. It started with an $800 build, and now it's up to about $1200. I want the build to be the best value for my dollar, i'm not looking to overclock, just to improve my current 25-30fps on low/mid settings to 60fps on high settings at 1080p. Does this build achieve that? And are the parts compatible? Do you have any recommendations? I'm really open to feedback.

Solution
I can make some significant improvements on that build. ;)
I'm assuming you need support for the Blu-Ray DVD drive mentioned, so i've put in a case which supports this, as well as a very good wireless adapter.
If you'd like, you can splash out another 15 bucks to get a better case, or I can put in a 1TB HDD instead to bring this case into budget, although the Zalman Z3 Plus is very good: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/Rz2kcf/corsair-case-cc9011036ww

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($204.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 74.3 CFM CPU Cooler ($17.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170-D3H ATX...
Good build. But in the interest of saving you some money here are my suggestions:

1) Your PSU is excessive. 550w is plenty.
2) I would probably start out with 16gb of memory so you don't need to worry about upgrading soon.
3) A GTX 1070 is overkill for 1080p 60 FPS. A GTX 1060 or RX 480 is plenty for that. Get a 1070 for 1440p or 144Hz.
4) The case is a little expensive at this budget, but if your heart is set on it, buy it.
5) As nice and fast as the Samsung 850 Evo is I personally am a fan of the Crucial MX300, it's 20gb larger for $20 less.
6) Do you really need a Bluray reader?

Here is how my suggestions would play out:

Thanks for the suggestions! My heart isn't set on the case, I just want something that will fit everything. Because I'm unfamiliar with PC part sizes(the last PC I owned was in 2006 and I never looked inside). The DVD/Blueray/CD reader is there so that I can download anything that is formatted on a disk. Also considering a Wifi adapter in case I can't get access to the router.
