Hey all. First time posting here and I am in need of some help! I am still decideing between the i7 6800k and the i7 6850k but either way I need help picking a motherboard.

The build is going to be used for gaming, Twitch streaming, and making YouTube videos.

I only really have experience with Asus boards and don't know where to begin if I were to look at other ones. The three I am looking at are the Asus Rampage V Extreme, Asus x99 Deluxe II, and the Asus ROG x99 Strix. I have read mixed reviews on all of them and just want some insight on which would pair best with the 6800k/6850k.

Also if anyone has any input on 6800k or the 6850k that would be appreciated as well. I do not intend to SLI and I know other than 3.4 GHz vs. 3.6 GHz that the only difference is the number of PCIe Lanes, would this matter if I do not intend to SLI? Would there be any other reason to get the 6850k?

Thanks in advance for any help!

There are too many reports of the ASUS X99 boards randomly overvolting CPUs. It's happened to me personally more than once and cost me two CPU's already. I think I have it pinned down to being caused by a glitch in their AI Suite software, but no one knows for sure. ASUS has been silent on the issue, so all I can do is recommend that you not buy one. I've been eyeing this board a lot:

https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-X99-OC-LGA2011-v3-Motherboard/dp/B00O7FSUKG

Whichever X99 board you get, make sure it already has a recent BIOS loaded in order to support Broadwell-E.
Unless you're running SLI and multiple PCI-E SSD's, you probably don't have to worry about running out of PCI-E lanes with the 6800K, so I'd go with that one.
