Ok so I have this computer: http://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c04852570
and I was wondering with my power supply... could I support an AMD Radeon 280X? I keep hearing that only 280/290 watts should be fine. I don't know if it'll support it well. I only mostly play league of legends and minecraft. Also, does the 280X require a separate power cord? Like a 6-pin or something? I don't have one of those. Is there an adapter for it?

Solution

no, you need a proper 550w power supply for it ( good units will have the pcie cables you need )

tier 1 or 2 units from this list:
