Hi, I am running a Intel Core i5-6500 @ 3.20Ghz on Win10, Asus B150 Pro Gaming mobo and Asus Strix GTX960 4GB. My monitor is just a 20" Asus 1366x768 native res with 60Hz.

I am experimenting with DSR on some of my games like NBA2K16, Raceroom, CS go and etc. I am using 4x DSR with 0% smoothness and it runs smoothly at steady 60fps at High settings with AA and Anisotropy at minimum.

Will my PC be in good shape if I continue to use DSR? I mean, will it damaged my monitor or GPU? or any components of my pc? Thanks!

Solution

Lets say it like this
In general, every load put on your gpu could affect its lifespan but as long as your gpu doesnt get too hot with dsr, you should encounter no problems

So using FXAA and Anisotropy are still better for long term run?

Not too hot means not exceeding 80-90 degree celcius right? What about the GPU usage of 80-100% and clock speed exeeding the limit? Is it not a good sign too?

Thanks! What about GPU usage of 100%? Is it also ok while gaming? And I'm just confused with my GPU clock speed because it says in my GPU Tweak 2 that the maximum clock speed is 1291MHz but when I am gaming it goes up to 1300-1430MHz, is it good or bad?

Thats completely okay, since gpu´s are made for being under load but for a cpu for example, i wouldnt recommend running it on 100% load all the time
You'll be fine as long as your GPU doesnt reach like 90°C all the time

All fine it's just turbo doing it's thing.
