Hi! I've been trying to overclock this processor but I can't proceed further than this frequency because I need to add atleast +5 on the frequency of PCI-E. I've read on the forums that PCI-E shouldn't be overclock. Any help or advice? The ff. are my components:

Foxconn G31MXP-K
Core2duo e8400
2x2GB ddr2 kingston
gtx 560 1gb ddr5

The ff. are the pics from bios (sorry! Camera's flash ate the picture)

THANKS!

I'm not sure- I was always using p35 motherboard myself, and have little knowledge of OC limitations on other boards. Google shows some people have used it for overclocking, but I do not know if it was done by modding CPU or not. Anyway, you need to find a way to up the FSB without upping the PCIe, through modding or not.

To get a higher multiplicator you'd have to add voltage to your cpu which can affect its lifespan ( just for your information )
I'd recommend setting a higher voltage, trying what frequency you can achieve and then lowering the voltage step by step to see at which voltage the cpu runs stable with the lowest volt possible

In conclusion, my motherboard isn't good for overclocking?

Check my photos sir. There is a separate option for CPU and PCIe. Hope you can help thanks!

what do you mean by manual setting sir? I added +12 on it while observing the system, I will return it back to 100MHz

Do you know the specs of your memory? As you overclock, the clock on memory will go up by same percentage as well, and can limit the max overclock. A lot of older memory used higher voltage (2.0V vs 1.8V), and more relaxed (higher) latency timings to achieve 800MHz/PC6400 vs 667MHz/PC5300 speed. So you can up the voltage on it by 0.2V if needed as well, and update us on your overclocking success.

I'm currently set the ram to 4-5-4-14 and +0.20V in it. I can't achieve much higher than that. My memory is 800MHz stock

Only thing present about PCIe frequency is the PCIe Clock which has a stock of 100MHz and a maximum of 120MHz. When I reached that 120MHz Bios halts and stucks on the splash screen then will had to reset bios through the jumpers
