Hi - I've had a PC for a couple of years, and since day one of its been pretty noisy. I'm getting more seriously into music production and the noise is an issue. I have a feeling its the graphics card that's doing it, but how can I make sure?

Here's a link to my spec, the forum wouldn't let me post it as an image

Any help appreciated.

Your CPU cooler is definitively noisy ah heck, specially at higher temperatures. If you replace it with much bigger one it should be able to cool better and run at lover fan speeds which in turn will make it quieter.
Can't do much about GPU except to change to quieter one and in mean time make sure it's fan speed/temperature curve stays low.

Great thank you, cant hurt to get a new cooler as a first step I guess. It is a couple of years old so I'm guessing there will be better options on the market.

It's not only the age, those things were noisy from day one. Too small fan and whole cooler barely enough. Fan turning 5000+ RPM when hot. Had me few of those and changed them all the time.
An air cooler with at least 3 - 4 heat pipes and 120+mm fan should keep it much cooler and fans run at lower RPM. Last one I had on my Ph II 965be was Scythe Mugen3 cooler and fan(s) on it run at 600 - 900 rpm, practically noiseless even with heavy OC.

That's really useful, thank you!
