Hi, I have a NVIDIA Quadro fx 3800, and it preforms well but i have an fx 1800 laying around that is doing nothing, but can they work together (not in sli)? My motherboard (MSI 970GAMING) does support 2 gpu's (and sli). But could they work together (even on 1 monitor)?

You can run them both at the same time, however you will not be able to enable SLI. You can use one for physx and one for graphics computing in games but you wouldn't notice too much of an fps difference.

You can also plug more monitors into the other card if you desired, and could use both cards for separate computational activities depending on what you are doing. Essentially you would have to treat them as two distinct cards running off one CPU.

1060 i really do not want because of non sli, because i want to do 2 graphic cards in my pc but first 1, and 1070 is really pricey so i just thought like go 970 or 960/rx 480 or 470. :D
