Hello people, As stated on the title , I want to know that if using a 5.5v/2A charger is safe to charge my phone up. Since the charger came with my phone, which is rated as 5v/750mA is dead. Also the 5.5v charger have a round plug, so I'd have to do some wiring to get the USB type micro b.
Also my phone is Nokia Lumia 525.
It'd be great to have fast answers. Thanks.

No. The phone wants 5v. The phone will only take the current it needs (Amps) but it's the extra voltage that could cause damage. As USB power adapter's are so cheap just get the right tool for the job. A usb supply capable of 1A would be fine and should be easy to find cheap.
