Easeus todo Backup free seems frozen

I am using the sector by sector option in EaseUs ToDO (free) to clone a 1Tb boot partition on a failing Seagate to a new Hitachi with a same-sized unallocated partition. The program (running in WIndows 7) hasn't shown any progress in over 13 hours (the progress bar shows only about 5% done, though no numbers display). Nor does it show the time remaining (just dashes). I can hear both disks clicking occasionally and if I press the space bar I get a dialogue asking me if I really want to interrupt the operation.
I am wondering if the cloning is really progressing, but the interface isn't showing it, or if it is really stuck where it is doing nothing (Task Manager indicates its is running).
Anyone have this kind of experience with EaseUs? Should I just wait and hope (and for how long)? Or kill it and try something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar situation 3 weeks ago. I bought a 1 Tb Western Digital laptop disk along with an USB-to-IDE interface to use the IDE drive as an UBS device. I ran CHKDSK multiple times in the DOS window to clean up the disk as much as possible.

I downloaded the WD clone software from their site. Their clone software is made by Acronis. I created Acronis boot DVD and rebooted my system from the CD. I then used the clone software to copy from the internal IDE disk to the new IDE disk with the USB interface. I believe there were 2 clusters that could not be copied. I removed the laptop internal drive and replaced it with the new Western Digital.

The boot to Windows 10 was flawless. There was a problem whenever I would access the File...

Checked the drive with SeaTools, a number of times. First the tools managed to 'repair' the damaged sectors, after which I tried backing up. The backup failed. I ran Seatools again, tried backing up again, etc, until SeaTools finally gave me an error in the SMART and would no longer even try to fix things. Clonezilla managed to clone one of the partitions, but gave me an error after partially cloning the boot partition (after running 3 days!). I know the disk is really screwed up, but I would like to get off as much as I can from that partition. EaseUs is supposed to be able to clone even a failing disk by ignoring the bad sectors and getting what it can, but it seems completely stuck.

The boot to Windows 10 was flawless. There was a problem whenever I would access the File Explorer, and I assumed this was caused by the bad clusters on the original drive. I reapplied the Windows 10 Anniversary update which installed a new copy of the File Explorer. Everything has been perfect since then. The free WD Acronis clone software will only work if one of the disk drives is Western Digital. It will spend a lot of time trying to copy bad clusters.
