msi afterburner not seeing zotac 1080 gpu core clock values

i just got this graphics card and its working nicely but for some reason i cant see the core clock amount no matter when i try in msi, its just at 215 MHz all the time, i tried to max it out and it crashed while running unigine valled benchmark scene which tells me its working

The core clock will only go up when it needs to go up. Try running Valley in a window and you should see the clock speed go up in Afterburner.

yes i did that issue was it seems like its the slot it was in, i had in the first slot a 970 card and the 1080 below, now i switched them and i see it but now not the 970
