after recently upgrading my gtx 970 to a 1070 I seem to be getting sound cut outs in game, they last a second up to a few seconds then the sound comes back in. everything was fine with the gtx 970. I'm using a behringer external soundcard and have it plugged into my speakers and via an optical cable to my sub. the sub continues to work when the sound to the speakers cuts out. my hjeadset a sennheiser 363d seems unaffected by the sound cut outs. Any help would be appreciated as I prefer to play with sound coming out my speakers with a sub.

I can get sound through my headphones no bother and sound through the monitor speakers, its just the speakers hooked up to my usb soundcard that I cant get. it keeps cutting out. its not the speakers as tried them with another source and they work fine. they'll work then the pc seems to be muting them for some reason.
I have found the lastest realtek audio drivers for my mobo on the msi site but it wont let me download them it just keeps thinking about it.It's very strange though that my headphones are working fine and never cut off and that its just affecting the speakers using the usb soundcard. the sound going to the sub from this soundcard via the optical is fine too.
