I'm trying to fix a friend's computer, but I'm at a loss with this thing at this point. He gave it to me to fix because it'd freeze up on loading windows. I wiped it and reinstalled windows, and it worked fine.

For about a month. Then the same issue started happening again. So I wiped and reinstalled again, figuring it was some kind of malware. Got it running again and all seemed fine, so I gave it back and once again I've got it with the same issue.

So far I have run as many HDD diagnostics as I can get my hands on, as many memory diagnostics as I can get my hands on, and they all show that the HDD and RAM appears to be fine. So I tossed in another HDD, figuring I'd load windows on it, give it back, see if it happened again. But now it's not letting me install Windows. It's also not loading mini XP off of a Hiren's boot USB. I've considered taking out the RAM, but I have nothing to replace it with to see if it's at fault. But either way, everything I threw at it said the HDD and RAM was fine.

At this point I don't know what else I can or should do. I'm hoping you folks have some suggestions.

Update: Still having the same issues as I've been having; Windows 7 won't load, can't get mini XP off of a USB drive to load, and I've ran a couple more HDD and RAM tests and still getting no errors.
