bought some Brand New gtx750ti's from ebay listed as GALAXY but have ASUS stamps on fans and pcb board box was non branded other than NVIDIA GTX750TI the cards have a 6pin power connector which i thought was odd for the 750ti..when we did the initial installs everything seemed fine they showed up as gtx750Ti's they were functioning as expected we did win 10 upgrades then the drivers(freshly done post win 10 upgrade) and proceeded to test on various games... they seemed ok but were noticeably lower Fps than prev 750Ti's and we couldnt even boot up ark survival which was really odd cuz i can play that game on my office PC with a GT740(win 7 tho)..Im thinking these are counterfeit cards but I dont know how I might prove it???
we are hobby builders and these were used in three separate but similar systems...I dont have any other 750ti right now to compare but did have a 760 that plays on medium very nicely and these woudnt even boot the game at low settings

Solution
Fire up GPU-Z and see what the vital stats say.

A GTX 750Ti should have 5 SM units and 640 shaders with 2GB of memory. A lot of counterfeit cards are the correct GPU, just a more crippled version of it with the wrong BIOS loaded. GTX750 have 4 SM units working. Some GT740 are GM107 GPUs with only 3 SM units.

Shading Units: 640
TMUs: 40
ROPs: 16
SMM Count: 5
Pixel Rate: 16.32 GPixel/s
Texture Rate: 40.8 GTexel/s
Floating-point performance: 1,305.6 GFLOPS
first some 750ti's take 6pin power ,some don't. basic reference spec doesn't need external power, only pcie power but most 3rd people amped them up and added external power so that's not an indication of anything.

an ebay listing or pics would help though..........

EBAY # 182196041474

really found it odd that would not boot ark survival...I know its not a polished game but it should atleast boot up on low settings...it gets to the loading screen on ark then locks up opening task manager it says vga driver crash???

Well the model # list GTX750TI-OC-2GD5 is a ASUS card when you google it.

But the photos don't match up to the phone in the ebay listing.

look at the photo from the ebay ad

s-l1600.jpg

and from google

GTX750TI-OC-2GD5_2D-n.png

Positions are different for the connectors.

Run GPUZ as said. A fake firmware can show a different model number, but can't really fake shader numbers and things like that too well usually.

And then the box in the ebay add doesn't match galaxy or asus.

my thoughts as well...I have used other galaxy cards and they do or I have seen this shell pattern on them but the asus stamping is weird....I kinda think these are those chinese cheater vamerey cards that we all get warned about!!! but someone falsely advertised them as galaxy...

also I noticed there is no serial # on the card on any of the stickers or visible on the pcb board

192 shaders would be 1.5 SM units, or half a recent GT740. Each Maxwell shader module (SM) should have 128.

Those are probably GPUs that failed all specifications and were intended for destruction. Someone took them to another factory and slapped them into cards instead. Seems they have access to ASUS's fan production as well, probably unbalanced or fans that didn't meet spec (or they are just stolen)

You know the pcb board has ASUS printed directly on the board(not a sticker)...I tried to get a refund but unfortunatly it is past the 30 day form ebay but I think paypal is going to come thru..the guy insists that they are genuine GALAXY cards but there is not a single GALAXY stamp on the box or card the only thing that may mark them as galaxy is the shroud as its very similar but they are also the same as those crappy vamery cards I see advertised...the funny thing was I bought these as Galaxy card for a ok deal not a steal(it wasnt priced to good to b true)

Ouch, you got ripped :(

That doesn't match anything NVida makes. The closest with be the GT 630, 192 shaders, 16 TMU / 4, 8, or 16 ROP

Thanks for all your help in determining that these cards were indeed fake!!! I saw another member on e-bay gave similar negative feedback on these cards as well...while I was just overtime to get an easy refund from e-bay, PayPal came thru and I got a full refund for the purchase( tho i did have to pay shipping back cost) The comment with the advice to use GPU-Z turned out to be the most productive but all advice was on point and helped me prove my case thank you all!!!
