so i want to upgrade my gpu to a gtx 1060 but will my Memphis-S motherboard be good enough to power that gpu

i got a intel core i7-4790s

The Memphis-S motherboard lists 1x PCIe x16 3.0 which is what you want. However you will also need a 6pin (or 8pin depending on model) power connection from your power supply. The motherboard's PCIe cannot power the GTX 1060 on its own.
