Hello guys.
My cpu spikes in temperature when in idol and playing games. It ranges from 30 degrees Celcius up to 70 degrees Celcius... is this problem worth changing my cpu cooler or not? I do like my components to stay cool and stay alive for a long time :D I have a corsair h100i v1 cpu cooler and a i6700k cpu. Thanks for reading! I hope some one can help :)

Solution
if it's like the 3570k, and unlike devil canyon, then the poor TIM can cause very sudden spikes as the heat flow to the spreader is slower than ideal.

And is that normal/good?

Jumping from 30 to 50 °C seems a bit odd to me even though load temperatures are okay, but only just okay
@Ecky Yeah its normal for temps to jump around but not while idleing and not between 30 and 50 °C i guess
What tool are you using to messure the temps ?
Are you sure you mounted the cooler right ?

I idle without any programms running except the temp measuring software so i guess thats why i wondered
Then i guess those temps are normal

My 3570k's TIM is untouched and it idles at around 20 °C with any spikes
Another proof that every CPU is different and i apparently won a small price in the sillicon lottery

Interesting. Were you ever on overclock.net btw?
