Hey all, I know this probably isn't the best place to asking if this build is on decent levels with everyone, but im just getting jitters in terms of worrying about the build I have in mind for my first-hand built PC. Just wanting to find some secondary opinions on if it's a good £600-£700 build for a first timer. Not that I'm TRYING to set it on fire or anything........

CPU - Intel i5 6500 (3.2ghz with no plans to overclock)
MOBO - ASUS H110M-PLUS mATX
COOLER - Stock Skylake Intel Cooler
RAM - Stuck between 8 or 16GB DDR4 @2133mhz
GPU - Sapphire Radeon RX 480 8gb (Triple fans FTW!)
CASE - CiT Neptune Case
PSU - EVGA Supernova G2 650 Watts Gold
FANS - single 12mm front red LED fan with a GameMAX 12mm Windforce fan in Rear (May mount another one on side for intake above CPU.
STORAGE - Currently 2x 250gb HDDs. Will upgrade later to 1x 1TB HDD and 250gb SDD.

One of my current worries is how I will connect the case fans to the MOBO as at a quick glance it won't support 4-pin Molex (Which is what the Windforce fans use for connections.

I plan on using this build for current AAA games, as well as Photoshop, video editing, etc

Hey there, I cloned your build and changed some things: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/p9XsLD

First of all the Motherboard, I looked on the Asus Specs of the mobo https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H110M-PLUS/specifications/

For the same price you could get the MSI B150m Mortar, the Audio chipset is slightly better, what "concerns" me on the Asus motherboard is that they saved on the Audio part, and meaning it could be that you get Static noises. Never the less I think the MSI Mortar is better than the Asus.

The Rx480 and GTX 1060 are out, on Uk you can find for relativelly the same price a good GTX 1060. There is no doubt on it, you should go all the way to the Nvidia side, not only the card is slightly faster than the Rx 480 but you will get the premium Nvidia drivers. at the moment Nvidia Is kicking AMD a***s.

For your concern on the Mollex connector, it´s actually not located on the MOBO but on the PSU, most modern EVGA PSU don´t come with any mollex connector (I have the Supernova G2) but you can buy very cheap Sata to Mollex Adapters from Amazon, for example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sata+to+molex&sprefix=sata+to+mol%2Caps%2C174

On the case I never heard of Cit Neptune, I looked at the pics and I just don´t like it, I recommend you stick to a cheap but well known brands. The Zalman Z11 comes for example with a Led front fan, http://www.zalman.com/contents/products/view.html?no=335 Although I would trow every single stock fan in the bin and buy Noctua or Cougar fans. You need to keep in mind you´re using the Stock skylake fan, it will not perform good, it will be loud and annoying.

Some Optimal cooling:

First you should change the CPU Fan, if you wan´t the best/price ratio: Take the 212 Evo If you wan´t to go big and good take the Noctua NH-D15 and you´re in luck it fits the MSI B150 Mortar and Normally the Zalman Z11 Plus can take it: http://www.overclockers.com/zalman-z11-plus-case-review/ (The NH-D14 is very close to its big brother)

Than buy some Cougar fans https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=vortex+cougar

And you golden-

Thank you for the alternate choices :) the motherboard especially as it gives me plenty of room to reconfigure any future addons, should I need them. As far as the audio chipset goes, I'll go out on a limb and see how the H110-Plus fairs.

GPU wise, I beg to differ. while the 1060 is getting plenty of media attention, I hear that it only has a few frames ahead of the 480, and AMD is more..."compatible" with Intel cores. I'll have to do more research into this, however.

As for the case & fans, CiT are supposedly a good if not basic reputable cheap brand for cases (and possibly psu's? rather not risk that!) but being on a divided budget, I liked the design, but was told after my purchase it WILL require a side fan for it's poor heat mitigation, so I will consider the Z11 if it gets abit toasty/cramped for my system. Fans, i'm not entirely well informed on; I just have a look at ones based on price/speed/CFM.

Overall, If i could give you extra brownie points on here, I would, just for the in-depth information alone.

Not sure if that is so true, all depends on where you look.
On new games AMD beats nvidia 1060 nicely.
Lets not even talk about Doom on vulkan. ;)

Even Dx11 DeusEX that was just released show better performance for rx480.

For the motherboard try getting the H170 Hyper, you can overclock the CPU with that mobo. ;)

I'll be honest, I don't plan on overclocking anything I have anytime soon haha I'm content with the bits that I have, but it's just the mixed bag of the 480/1060 that has me at a crossroads because both work relatively similar on certain games, but as long as im able to push 60fps, I'm not really fussed. I am trying to go for a red LED setup though, so the Sapphire 480 will play well into my hands for the pretty lights.

Also, this video kinda won me over :3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXCYsFebIOE

And also noteworthy, gonna be running 1080p max (courtesy of my lovely 43" Plasma TV :3) so framerate will stay pretty constant I presume.
