hello , i was playing NFS RUN and suddenly my screen got black and computer restarted and my bios has strange font and vertical blue lines and as the system proceeded it showed a BSOD screen install display drivers again or something like that and it wasnt letting in until i tried to get in through safe mode but vertical lines were still there , fans of graphics card are running , another phenomena happened that when i was checking rams and pulled and inserted one and press the swtich , the computer started by itself without me turning the power button on cpu on , so i intalled both the rams back and then turned on and this time it didnt turned itself on ....

- is there something wrong with my psu that computer started by itself , its running ok now on a backup graphics card known as NVS 310

- did my psu made my gigabyte radeon HD 6850 dead , it was running perfectly before , with good temps and everything , FPS was ok too , its a used card and i have done stability tests on it and it was ok and then suddenly that day it died

- my friend was checking the gpu and noticed that one of the fans didnt spin much correctly , the other fan when spin with hands spins longer then the other one which stops quickly , is there any solution to that or is it normal and no problem for fans to do this

- should i attempt heating procedure on this card , is it worth it

- the supplier when i had kind of talk with him , he directly blamed my psu that it fried the card and didnt take the blame on himself and i also noticed later that 1 IC chip upper is also broken , on of those small dot things

- also suggest me a normal card as it was much loss and now i m finding some medium range cards to buy , still scared that that doesnt get fried as well

Thank you

System is HP Z400 , With Delta PSU 475 W , 8 GB RAM

I haven't attempted the heating procedure, i've seen people talking that it works and people saying it didn't. If your card is dead already, why not?Post the results here.

But about de PSU, yes it's. I do not know your PSU brand, so i can't talk about it. But it's very possible, if it's not giving the gpu enough power it will slowly be damaging it. Try your GPU in another PC, if it works fine, try switching you PSU & cleaning up your mobo.

Are you using w10? Mine has the same problem about turning on automatically, if i force it to shut down, and soon after replug the power cable it'll start to boot without me having pressed the power button. I don't know why.

A good old GTX 970 should be able to handle everything nowadays on medium/high settings and isn't that much expensive, you could try to check it out.

Actually its A 150 W card on max and when running GTA V it used only 60 percent , i did benchmark through MSI afterburner ,card would be consuming less even on 99 percent card was taking almost like may be 130 W bcz it took 150 W on FURMARK which is quite an unrealistic situation , I saw bechmarks on many sites of the cards max usage in watts , card was working fine totally and also PSU , the PSU is still fine and isnt starting the pc by it self , normal now , GPU temps were also normal , my pc also isnt loaded with too many things , its quite normal , only a WIFI USB additional and am still thinking what could have caused it , well GTX 970 is quite expensive , any less priced card suggestions similar to HD 6850 would be great ....
