To use with laptop, I like to listen to Spotify while studying. Any good ideas for mobile audio setup cause we all know laptop integrated speakers are trash

I guess it depends on what you mean by mobile (and what you budget is).

I personally call Emotiva's Airmotion 4S portable because I can fit two speakers in a backpack and since they are powered I don't need an amp with them. These are pretty good speakers, especially for the price at $300/pr.

Otherwise if you are looking for something smaller; there's the Emotiva 3b at $170 or the Audioengine A2+ at $250. The 3b's include bluetooth and the A2+ includes USB audio however, given that both of these are smaller the bass isn't as deep as the 4S.

agreed, depends on what you mean by mobile and if they need to be battery or can be plugged into ac.

cheaper are products like the mackie cr3. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/0PMCR4k2Fhw/maxresdefault.jpg this would be my suggestion at least... not overly large but still not tiny with decent sound quality for the price.

if it needs to be smaller yet and without cord perhaps a single bluetooth speaker with integrated left/right channels and using a bt dongle if your laptop isnt bt capable. you'd have to charge it and its not going to have high output but its smaller.

or, just go for some headphones with a portable amp/dac. extremely portable, great quality of sound per dollar and you dont have to bother everyone else around you.

I thought "mobile" was common sense.... But obviously not.... definition of mobile: able to move or be moved freely or easily. Thanks for the help

Mobile is rather nondescript. For me, the 4S's are extremely mobile as it's just two smaller speakers, two power cords, and a cord to attach to whatever device you're listening too that all can fit easily in a backpack. Some people think if it's bigger than a soda can it's not mobile. And then as ssddx mentioned, do you mean battery powered or not?

a 20 ton crane can certainly be called mobile as well. or in the electronics world, a 20 pound laptop is also mobile/portable. the word mobile alone isnt really a good enough descriptor. you did not give us much information on what you wanted - be it budget, size, weight or other requirements. if you want more finely tuned suggestions then i'd suggest explaining a bit more.

generally as far as something that can be carried in a small bag it can be broken down into a few categories..
-small amp and headphones
-bluetooth speaker (single)
-bluetooth speakers (pair)
-powered speaker (single)
-powered speakers (pair)
-small amp and passive speakers (pair)

why did we suggest powered speakers or headphones? good audio quality for the price, good volume output, no need for silly battery charging. while bluetooth speakers have a place and have some practical purposes they are also at the same time impractical in other ways. prices tend to be high for what little you get out of them as well.

You guys are making this way more complicated than it needs to be..... When I say mobile, that should automatically mean easy to transport, a 20 ton crate is NOT easy to transport. Bad comparison bud.... Think for a second, I want something that's easy to transport, that's the ONLY plausible meaning.
