Hey guys!

Sow i have AMD Athlon X4 860k and i'm thinking to put new graphic card sow for what i need to look out for when buyng new graphic card becose i dont want to burn down my cpu.

Motherboard: gigabyte f2a78m-ds2 amd a series, amd a78 fm2+

Thx for your time!!

Solution
A GPU is not going to burn down your CPU, though you can buy a too powerful GPU and not making most use of it due to your weak CPU. The best match for the X4 860K would be a RX 480 or GTX 1060, anything above those would be a waste of money since they will perform the same as these GPU's.

This is sorta true - at 1080P this is likely to be the case. At higher resolutions a 1060 or 480 would struggle, and so a more powerful card like a 1070 or 1080 would be able to stretch its legs.

A CPU determines the upper limit of your framerates. A GPU determines what graphical settings you can run at a target framerate.
