Hi all

As you forum members were very helpful in answering my question about the positioning of my power supply in a past post I thought I would ask you all a new question.

I have got a motherboard in one of my PC's which has in the middle of it. ( near the PCI sockets) a Molex type socket plug. ( bit like the ones on old CD-ROM drives) and I was wondering if I could plug a fan lead into this socket if I have the right adaptor/converter. I understand that there are usually connectors on a motherboard for fans but there is not enough connectors on the board for the number of fans at the case. Could I do this or is the socket for another purpose? Please could you explain what the socket is for, so I have a better understanding of it?

Thanks again for the help.

Cheers
