Hi,

I brought i7 4790k with Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H. This motherboard has 8 pin atx and my old PSU has 4 pin. Is that okay if I put 4 pin to 8 pin ?

Thanks for the answer

No, there is no limit on power. It does what it requests. It doesn't just stop. If a crash would result from such a thing, it'd probably be due to wires getting too hot. But those two 12V wires should be able to handle his 4790K just fine.
