Hi there,
For the past 2 weeks I've been getting blue screens with the same error message (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR)
It says they have been caused by hal.dll on BlueScreenView.
I've tried turning off overclocking by putting bios to default, also tried updated graphics drivers but it's still happening.
As a side note this has only occurred while playing World of Warcraft, and it's only occurred after i updated to windows 10.

Info from most recent crash, all crashes caused by the same driver and address

Solution
note: your cpu came out in june of 214
your bios is dated 5/16/214

your bios has selected a strange clock rate for that CPU. 3993 Mhz rather that the correct default value of 4 GHZ.
I would suspect that your BIOS just does not know about your new low power CPU and is applying incorrect voltages to the CPU.
IE wrong (too high) voltages for the clock rate.

most likely the problem will go away after you update the BIOS.
bios update https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_RANGER/HelpDesk_Download/

looks like the current version is 3003 dated 2015/11/23
be sure to update the motherboard drivers after you update the BIOS version.

then run intel cpu diagnostic to confirm your CPU is ok...

I did that earlier today, crashed again a few minutes ago (same bluecreen message). If i installed windows 10 from the free upgrade how would i go about re-installing it?

this means the CPU called the bugcheck, the only driver that would cause this would be a overclocking driver.
For the most part, reformating will only help if it removes a overclocking driver in the process.

put the memory dump from c:\windows\minidump directory on a server, share it for public access and post a link.

otherwise, your best bet is to update the BIOS (to clear automatic overclocks) and remove any CPU or GPU overclocking drivers.
Then clean out any dust, and make sure your CPU,GPU and PSU are not overheating.
if your bios is up to date, reset it back to defaults to remove any automatic overclocking.
(some bios versions will let you check temperatures and the system voltages)

the memory dump, will show the list of drivers and the speed of the CPU. It will also show the system uptime. This is useful to see if you have a power problem or a overheating problem.

Thank you for the info to try, im going to clean out my pc of any dust after making this reply.

[strike]How do i go about putting a link to the memory dump? ( i will try to figure it out in the mean time and edit if i do)[/strike]
I hope this is what you are looking for ? put the info from the dump into a text file http://puu.sh/qOD3e/1611e2a4f3.txt

I also don't know how to make sure my bios is up to date? but i did reset my bios to default already, here is a link to my watts and temps http://puu.sh/qOxHO/66c7899477.png i have had it open while im playing and the highest i've seen was 75 celsius on gpu

see note on next post, most likely the old BIOS applies the incorrect voltage and causes the CPU to overheat.
-----------
I need the actual memory dump file so I can look at it directly with the windows debugger.
the automated debug script does not look for the correct info.

the automated debug dump suggest that your power to the CPU fluctuated. it could be overheating, or a gpu using too much power from the motherboard. system was shut down by the CPU because of a cpu cache memory error.
(15 hours uptime, and a cpu cache error)

BIOS overclocking, software overclocking of the CPU or GPU or overheating of the CPU, GPU, or PSU
would be the normal causes.

there are a few other things i could check in the memory dump but those are the most common causes of this problem

Okay i updated my bios to the latest version on ASUS website, i ran the intel cpu diagnostic and it passed. Going to update the other motherboard drivers now.

On the bios it shows the CPU speed @ 4000Mhz after setting to optimized defaults

While running a game my CPU temps are between 75-80 and peaked at 90 (all celsius) , these temps seem high...

the CPU speed should be good, it is the expected value.
if the intel processor test passed then the temps are ok.
