So i built a new pc with i5 4590 with CM TX3 Evo, and it looks like i mounted the the cooler wrong, and my cpu (while browsing) got really laggy and slowly, i opened up a program and it said 100°C. I shut down my pc immediately. Its good now. Can it cause any problem?

Solution
In general you should be ok. The slowdown you feel is the cpu clocking down to prevent damage.

I would not want to run it long term like that, but I have seen some systems get pretty heated and have no future issues.

Make sure you used thermalpaste if there isnt any pre applied. And I know it sounds dumb, but make sure the plastic is taken off the bottom of the cooler, ive seen people do it before.

100 c is insanely hot, but if it only happened once and is running fine now, you shouldnt have anything to worry about.
