Hello i have a problem with freezing hdd.
Ok from the start.

I was playing iwth axtu x fast ram, i have enabled it and then my pc crashed with some bsod and from then im stuck with my hdd.

i got 2 HDD's first one with system is working correctly when plugged alone

when i plug other one where is my important sort of data, and when trying to acces it via disk management diskpart etc it just freezes i hear it works at 100 % just after plugging the power cable, its not going idle just never which probably makes biggest lag ever and im looking for a solution to fix that.

Short story short
second hdd working at 100 % just with the power plugged in ( same with both sata cables )

Please im sitting here for 4 hrs already :x

Thanks

PS: booting got stuck at scanning and repairing disk blabalbla //?/blablabla
where //? is the weird part

Thanks mate.
I'd strongly suggest that you get a new drive or RMA this one if it's still under warranty. However, if you decide to use it until it dies, just make sure that you don't write any important data on it without having it backed up somewhere else. Bad sectors can't be corrected and unfortunately there will be more and more. That's why it's really risky to keep using that HDD.

Cheers! :)
Hey there, Sigma119.

From what I was able to find out about that technology, it is used to utilize your RAM capacity in case you're running more than 4GB on a 32bit OS. So it doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the HDD. Although it would be quite the coincidence that the HDD's problems will occur at the same time. Try your drive with a different computer, or at least with a different SATA port and different cables on yours, to see if the same thing happens.
Unfortunately if your system is still unusable or freezes whenever you try to access it, there's not much you can do in terms of data recovery. You could try running Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if it's capable of accessing the HDD. Another thing you could check is the HDD's SMART status by downloading its manufacturer's diagnostic tool. Don't run any tests, just check the SMART status and post a screenshot if possible.

Hope that helps.

Hey there is the dump i managed to get it.
I woke up today and it was just a little better which let me get the smart scan.

I was trying already with another cables yesterday, same thing.

But now i noticed partitions went raw because i can see them , still i cant understand 100 % usage

The drive has accumulated bad sectors, which means that it's on its way to die. So basically as it turns out it had nothing to do with you messing around with the RAM feature. Unfortunately it's impossible to determine when exactly will be the end of the HDD, but judging by the way it behaves and affects your system, it might not be too far.

Basically you could still try Ubuntu Live and/or data recovery software: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm, but the best and most reliable option for data recovery would be a professional solution such as a data recovery company.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
