hi so i currently have an amd hd 7700 oc 2gb. i am wanting to upgrade so i can play all the tripple a titles, like rise of the tomb raider or assassins creed syndicate. the target fps i want to achieve is 60 fps.
i reckon the rx 480 should handle it very well, but it seems a bit like over kill. is there a better gpu from amd for 1080p gaming?
Cheers :)

Solution
Only real option for new games at 1080p is the 480 on AMD's side. The others are significantly slower (though still faster than your card by a lot) and would require lower settings in some games to achive ~60fps. Make sure to get the 8gb version though, don't skimp out on the cheaper 4gb one

The RX 470 isn't much worse than the 480. And while I agree the 8GB version is better, it's questionable if you need more than 4GB for 1080p. Not sure what the prices are like where you live, but here the RX 470 4GB is only two thirds the price of the RX 480 8GB which makes it very attractive.
