Recently had done a clean install of windows 10 on my pc as my original install was having some complications. After the install I started to install my drivers and chipsets. All was going well until I got to updating my Asus Z87 motherboards bios. When I open BIOS updater I have two buttons a grayed out yes and a no button which closes installer. It tells me to ensure I have Intel Management Engine Interface(IMEI) before using this tool. I know for a fact I have the latest IMEI and that my bios actually has an update available, my current version is something 2013 and the newest version I can install is 2014/09/12. Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to fix it?

Solution
Leave the BIOS updating process until you know for sure that it's really necessary. If your system works okay as it is, steer well clear of updating the BIOS.

It's not wise to perform a potentially risky process like that just because there's a newer version available, that's not a satifactory or sensible reason to do it. Too many PC owners are paranoid about always having the latest driver & BIOS updates in my opinion, as though it was somehow compulsory.
