Gaming Laptop Sometimes Fast Sometimes Slow

I have a relatively wierd problem.

My gaming laptop randomly changes to be fast or slow. It is an on and off problem, as some days it will be able to run most of the games I normally play (No Man's Sky, Subnautica, Space Engineers for a few examples on Steam) on maximum graphics, with at least 45 fps. However, on other days it will be incredibly laggy and slow, having trouble even running something as simple as Roblox at more than 15 fps while on lowest settings, while struggling to play No Mans Sky at even 1 fps. Is not related to being on battery, sometimes it runs faster on battery than it does plugged in.

Checking task manager shows that the only thing that occasionally reaches 100 percent is disk (Has always been a problem for me, but has never caused slowness, and even reaches 100 percent during its 'fast' phases). During slow phases, the computer doesn't even seem to go over 10 percent of CPU, and RAM is never a problem, whereas on 'fast' phases the CPU is usually higher. The problem persists through restarts, randomly deciding on whether it wants to be fast or slow throughout the day (Might be slow at night, will speed up in the morning for an example, or might be slow in the morning and speed up again later.)

I have finally decided to post this issue after a very long time of searching online, finding nothing like this problem. I can supply more info if needed.

Specs:

Intel Core I7-4720HQ @ 2.6 GHz (Although Task Manager reads it as running at 3.5 GHz...)

Intel HD Graphics 4600
Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M

8GB DDR3 RAM

I don't know what other specs to put. I do not know much about computer parts.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Sorry for the late response.

I think something is definitely very wrong, as my idle temp is very high, at 50-60 degrees Celsius for each of my 4 Intel cores on a slow day (with nothing open except the hardware monitor and Google Chrome), and the maximum temp allowed is 63 degrees. The fan is very quiet despite this high temperature, although it ramps up while playing games.

As for my GPU, something is wrong with the heat sensor, as it reads 0 degrees ("GPU Core 0 degrees, maximum 55 degrees").

Havent been able to test on a fast day, as I havent been able to test as the last time it was fast (when I took it on battery and used it outside) I had to do other stuff, although I will see if i can get the test done.

Also, when it slows down, the fans do not rev excessively, they rev just as much as they do when the computer is normal and fast. I think I mentioned this before, but Task Manager reads that on a slow day the CPU and RAM almost never reach higher than 20 percent. I would also like to note that I have not yet encountered it be slow when I have not been plugged into the wall (Just found myself a temporary fix, I can unplug the computer to make it run fast, but it is still incredibly annoying so I would still like help, thanks)

Well, now that I found that out, the temperatures are no different while my computer is fast. When I am playing a game, no matter how intensive the game, the temperatures do not increase or change at all, regardless of being fast or slow.'

Thanks for the help.
