Gtx 1060- Gtx 1070

Hi,

I'm creating a gaming build so I can play routinely at 1080p on a 60hz monitor. I was just wondering, is the GTX 1070 graphics card worth going for if I have to change my CPU from the i5-6600k to the i5-6500?

If you are going to be staying at 1080 @ 60Hz for the next few years, my suggestion is to go with the 1060 and get the i5-6600K. You won't really see the performance gains of the 1070 over the 1060 at your resolution and refresh rate.

The cost of the 6600k, the cooler and the better motherboard would just about make up the difference.

why do you need to do that though?

If you have a set budget you want to spend, then sure the i5 6500 + 1070 will be the faster gaming machine.
