Hello, I have been having a really annoying issue while playing games on my PC recently, what happens is i will be playing a game for about an hour or so and suddenly it will freeze. The monitor freezes, mouse and keyboard turn off and the PC will just keep running until i hard reset it.

It only happens when i play games.

I don't think this is a temp issue as i monitor my temps while playing, i get about 50-55 C CPU and around 60-65 GPU while playing GTA V for example.

I think its either a psu or mobo issue however i cant really tell, both of these components are fairly new, brought the mobo this year and the psu about 1 and a half years ago.

PSU: be quiet 620w
MOBO:rog maximus ranger viii

Any help with this would be appreciated

Cheers
Lee

Try running a diagnostic on your hard drive and make sure it's not dying. I agree that it's probably a power supply or mobo issue though. I guess swap power supplies and see if you notice the same thing happening. If you have a local computer store they might be able to run a diagnostic on your power supply/motherboard.

Thanks for the advice guys, good shout Greg, i did use ai suite to auto overclock a while back but then i uninstalled it, i just checked my bios and i could see that my RAM had been overclocked using XMP, so therefore it did not get disabled when i uninstalled ai suite.

Il see how it goes and update you a bit later.

Thanks
