I have an HP Pavillion laptop and my mousepad has stopped working. The synaptics mouse/touchpad doesn't even show up in my hardware/control panel/mouse settings. It's like it disappeared! Please HELP!

go back your Device Manager -> go to View -> go to Show Hidden Devices click on it (see if it show up)

also, click your Fn button (function key).. you might of accidentally click on it and it shifted you into a different keyboard set up.

lastly.. double check your laptop for physical special on/off switches. Make sure you didn't accidentally switch them on or off.

Oh my goodness thank you! First off I was able to find a wireless mouse so I could at least navigate around my computer to try and find out what happened. Once I was able to get into my device manager and looked under hidden devices it popped up and looks like I need to update the drivers. Until I can do that I've got the wireless.

THANK YOU THANK YOU again! All the other solutions I was finding around the internet was to hard reset the computer and that was not working. Thank you again so so much! :)
