Hello guys,
I want to upgrade my Zotac GTX 780(Reference cooler) and trying to figure this since early of this month. My first choice is Founder's Edition. But all FE cards are out of stock in my country and no hope to see more of them again. Not a single brand is planing to re stock FE. As i contacted them all(almost). So I'm stuck with third party gpu's(aw..). I had 2x xfx 6600gt, Zotac 9600gt and ati hd3870x2 :)They all died a slow death due to their fan issue. Imo i find quality of nVidia reference fan/cooler much better/durable. A lot of complain regarding coil whine, fan failure ect with third party gpu's pulls me back. So with my past bad experience with third party gpu's, someone is still suggesting me to go with EVGA(if no other option left) as they use better components, coolers and ball bearing fans unlike Zotac which utilize sleeve bearing fans(don't know the difference). But a lot of people are also complaining about coil whine with evga gtx 1080 cards(source: EVGA forum) or mostly with third party gpu's. Founders edition have far less complaints.
Personally i would like to go with EVGA because of ball bearing fans(much durable in a long-run). EVGA has launched here recently(around Jan 2016). So can't comment about their service. Zotac offers 5yrs warranty with replacement(mostly) against faulty gpu(s) and low turnaround time for rma.
or
Should i go with GTX 1070 Founders Edition? (still available). But its a quite weak card. It can not even manage avrg. 60fps in Deus ex Mankind Divided @1920x1080 with i7 6700. I have 3770k lol.
or
Is it even worth upgrading now as pciex 4.0, HMB ect are near.
If i upgrade now then i have to wait for next 3yrs (with 1070) and 4yrs(1080).

All of them are pretty good. I personally go with the gigabyte windforce or g1 cards. I haven't had an issue with them. In fact I actually thought they were quite durable after all the abuse I put them through when trying to Tri-SLI 980 windforces. I had the backplates on, off, the gpus held up by fishing line in the case, fans accidentally hitting the gpu below from time to time, etc. And through all that abuse I never had a single issue with any of them. The nice thing is the 1080s are pretty much all around the same price right now.

As far as the 1070 goes, that game you had bad framerates on is an enigma from what i've heard, all gpus are struggling with it.
